• Historical Tour, led by University Archivist Kathy Smith: Take a stroll with University Archivist, Kathy Smith, as she recounts stories from the more than 150 years of Vanderbilt history. Attendees should plan on walking outside, mostly on sidewalks, for the duration of the tour.
• CLACX Ethnobotanical Garden Tour, led by a current student and faculty member exploring the smells, tastes and history of the garden’s colorful plants, flowers and trees. The garden is home to over 50 species of culturally significant plants from the region, reflecting the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies’ particular strengths in Mexico, Central America, Brazil, and the Caribbean.

Clinton serves as the Abby and Jon Winkelried Chair and professor of political science, and co-director of the Vanderbilt Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions, and NBC News senior election analyst. Geer serves as the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair and distinguished professor of political science. He also serves as Senior Advisor to Dialogue Vanderbilt. Both Geer and Clinton serve as Co-Directors, Vanderbilt Poll.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we work, learn, create, and connect, while raising profound questions about what it means to be human in an increasingly technological world. Join Yolanda Pierce, Dean of the Divinity School, and Matthew Johnson-Roberson, Dean of the College of Connected Computing, for a timely and thought-provoking conversation at the intersection of AI, ethics, technology, and human values. The conversation will be moderated by Antonio Akins, BS'96, and SVP of Engineering at Salesforce.

Bringing together two scholars whose fields approach AI from distinctly different but deeply complementary perspectives, this discussion offers a rare opportunity to explore the technology from both sides: what AI can do, and what it should do. Together, they’ll examine not only how AI is changing our everyday lives, but how Vanderbilt can shape its future with intention.

Join us for a VDS Alumni Conversation, centered around The Wilderness of Friendship: Forty Years of Hospitality, Vulnerability, and Wonder, co-authored by VDS alumni Bill Friskics-Warren (MDiv’84), Bill Harkins (MDiv’86, MA’01, PhD’01), Bob Victorin-Vangerud (MDiv’86), and Paul Shupe (MDiv’87).

The group became friends as VDS students in the 80s and went on to careers spanning ministry, pastoral counseling, homelessness advocacy, journalism, teaching, and more. In conversation with co-moderators, Ellen Armour (PhD’91), Director of the Carpenter Program in Religion, Gender and Sexuality, and Taure Brown, Ph.D., Director of James Lawson Institute, they’ll reflect on how their time at VDS shaped their lives and explore themes from the book, including the values and actions that sustained their 40+ years friendship.

Held in the historic Benton Chapel, this service will bring together student leaders from diverse faith traditions represented on campus. Through brief reflections, readings, and moments of collective pause, the Campus Blessing offers a space to ground the Reunion experience in connection, meaning, and Vanderbilt’s enduring commitment to spiritual and ethical life.

Owen Jones, Professor of Law and of Biological Sciences and Director of the Weaver Program on Law, Brain Sciences, and Behavior will be speaking about his most recent book, Force of Nature: Understanding Evolution's Deepest Logic - and Putting It to Use.

Most of us remember learning about natural selection and have a sense of its everyday implications, like the risks of overusing antibiotics. Professor Jones will show there are still many things that most of us fail to appreciate about evolution- including just how useful it can be to understand. He'll share how we misunderstand and neglect natural selection to our detriment, both missing opportunities to better achieve our goals and, sometimes, even imperiling lives.

Join AAVA, AVBA, LAVA, VAHLA, and the Student Center for Belonging and Communities (SCBC) for mimosas and light brunch bites in advance of the tailgate and Homecoming football game. This event is an opportunity to connect with Vanderbilt faculty, staff, students, and alumni who are interested in or identify with the multicultural community. All are welcome!

Get ready for the Homecoming football game with our annual Homecoming Tailgate! Alumni from all class years, including our esteemed Quinq alumni, friends and fans are invited to this family-friendly gathering that will have everything you need for the best game day experience, including Mr. C and the Spirit Squad. The Homecoming Tailgate includes a full meal, wine, beer, and soda, and will begin two hours before kickoff. The tailgate will conclude at the start of the game.

New this year—help launch a Homecoming tradition! Run or walk the inaugural Anchor Down 5K, a fun two-loop course through Vanderbilt’s campus. Gather with fellow Commodores at the starting line, enjoy music and Homecoming spirit along the route, and celebrate at the finish with refreshments and exclusive Anchor Down 5K swag. All experience levels are welcome! Open to current Vanderbilt students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

Following the 50th Reunion and Quinq Commodore Classroom, wrap up with a brunch honoring the Class of 1976. All Quinqs are invited to attend this special event! Seating is limited. Reservations are required. Complimentary valet parking provided.
